Two doctoral workshops on sustainability and evironmental politics, berlin, 4-5 april 2019

The workshops are organized in cooperation with UNA Europe and the University Alliance for Sustainability (UAS). PhD's candidates from UAS or UNA partner universities will be thematically grouped in two parallel running workhops on 4-5 April 2019:

  • "Sustainable Development Research - an Interdisciplinary Chance or Challenge?" chaired by Prof. Brigitta Schütt (FU Berling), Prof. Pasal Borry (KU Leuven) and Prof. Piotr Szwedo (Jagiellonian University)
  • "Environmental Politics" chaired by Prof. Itay Fishhendler (Hebrew University) and Prof. Kathryn Harrison (University of British Columbia)

In addition to the conference-style presentation sessions, we will offer different training modules. Topics may range from presentation skills, research ethics, intercultural competence for academic settings, publication strategies, etc. Accepted participants can choose one of the trainings offered.

The PhD workshops are part of the Spring Campus Conference of the University Aliance for Sustainability on 1-3 April.
Participants of the workshops will have the opportunity to participate actively in the conference: they can attend the Opening Day on 1 April and a research workshop of their choice on 2-3 April. We encourage you to use this opportunity to present your research.

You will participate in the Spring Campus Conference on 1-3 April and also participate in one of the two Doctoral Workshops on 4-5 April, at which you will give a twenty-minute presentation. The two PhD Workshops will be organised in parallel. Be sure to mention the title of the PhD Workshop of your choice in your application!

KU Leuven will provide funding for travel and accommodation for up to 5 PhD researchers. Freie Universität Berlin will cover the participation fees and catering costs throughout the event.
